Born in Ibadan into the Doherty family of Popo Aguda, Engr. Doherty trained as an engineer in the United States before returning home in 1986 to build businesses from the ground up — starting with a single mobile grain-processing operation that grew into the DAIN Group of Companies. He has served the Peoples Democratic Party without defection since 1999.
His candidacy is built on a simple premise: an engineer who has spent forty years building enterprises and creating jobs is exactly who should be entrusted with engineering Lagos's next chapter — measured, tested, delivered.
“Lagos is always on my mind. I want to help Lagosians and the people in general by giving them smiles and happiness.”

Trained in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Technology in the United States — a problem-solver's grounding brought to bear on Lagos's ten-point agenda for government.
From Zonal Secretary to Lagos State PDP Chairman to today's National Vice-Chairman, South-West — institutional experience inside the party he's now asking Lagos to trust with governance.

Ten pillars, articulated by Engr. Doherty himself — covering every Local Government Area in Lagos State.
Investing in Lagos's rural and semi-urban communities with affordable housing that puts ownership within reach.
Funding and platforms that give Lagos women — especially market women — real economic power and a stake in sport.
Skills, sporting infrastructure, and opportunity for the young Lagosians who will inherit this state.
A quality, affordable health network Lagosians can actually rely on, ward by ward.
Free, quality education so Lagos raises its own doctors, engineers, lawyers and bankers.
Roads and transport networks engineered to move Lagos, not just to look built.
Respecting Lagos's traditional institutions and rebuilding civil service welfare from the ground up.
Constant electricity and the infrastructural development that depends on it.
Fairer, modernised taxation — paired with paying workers what they're already owed.
A state industrialisation support programme built to create jobs, not just announce them.
“Doherty's record as a successful businessman, philanthropist and great supporter of youth empowerment is much to be desired — free health care, free legal aid, skill acquisition, scholarships, largely sponsored and supported by Engr. Adedeji Doherty over the years.”
Canvassing, ward mobilisation, market outreach, digital advocacy — there is a place for every Lagosian in this campaign. Sign up and a coordinator in your Local Government Area will reach out.
